Creating the balance between beauty and organization brought me to my early passion of interior design. Tagging along with my mother, as she made her way through antique stalls in search of furnishings and accents, ignited the spark about digging deeper into the history of design. My grandmothers influenced me with their abilities to layer the best investment pieces and special finds, illustrating that everyone can live well, whether in a cottage or a castle; with a place for everything and everything in its place.
Because of this background, I bring a unique skillset to my clients’ projects. The left and right brain play very well together. Practical solutions meet portfolio-worthy rooms! Building upon my interior design degree from ECU, I’m always continuing my education, whether it’s participating in a seminar, attending major industry markets or working alongside talented tradespeople. My clients are pretty savvy, too, and they always challenge me to create interiors with their specific needs in mind.
Through the years, as the principal of an award-winning interiors practice, I’ve come to learn the key to staying fresh is by bringing forth historical, classic elements, while being ever mindful of which trends should be incorporated or left behind. Timeless, quality-driven interiors are also gentler on the earth and provide for the ultimate design investment.
It’s been a pleasure to share wonderful life experiences with clients! The best results have incorporated function, beauty and emotion, while each step is conceptualized, designed and completed with care. From the youngest member of the household, to the active adult who wants more time to play, my interiors work spans not only across generations, but design styles, as well.
During my “off” time, you can find me enjoying the company of my husband and our three dachshunds - exploring the road less travelled, dabbling in the garden, searching for hidden treasures or putting pen to paper to collect my thoughts, as writing is another passion and now a second career aspiration.
